5 days agoI have the occasional hobby of hollowing books, filling them with things and giving them to people; it’s a nice, relaxing AFK activity for when I want to listen to podcasts and keep my hands occupied. One time I took pictures of the process to share some pitfalls and techniques I’ve picked up or developed, in case you would like to try it sometime. Here they are!

sarah palin resignation
i’m almost banking on the fact that one day my children will turn to me and ask, “mom, where were you when sarah palin announced her resignation as governor of alaska?” ok, that will probably never happen, but in case it does i want to document this moment. while people continue to speculate on the reasons for her premature departure from office, i would like to guess that it has something to do with the ethics probes that have plagued her since being thrust into the national spotlight in june of 08. i believe that it probably has something to do with an ethics violation that we haven’t been made aware of yet, and her move is preemptive. i guess we’ll see as the story unfolds.
this is a good article by paul begala:

5 days agoa day of loss
so, today farrah fawcett and michael jackson died. what a crazy day to pick to no longer visit celebrity gossip websites. of course i rescinded my intention until tomorrow. then something occurred to me that i’ve thought of before - huffington post is basically a celebrity gossip website parading as a political commentary.
ANYWAY there is one other thing that i want to say, however thinly veiled in secrecy - i think i finally get it, and it sucks, but you have to be honest with yourself and with other people even if it hurts (which is the part that sucks).
